About Us

We’re the  <Worgen Cub Clubbing Club>, an EU social guild serious about creating a community you’ll want to keep logging back into!

Bringing a fun and relaxed approach to all content, we aim to create a social, life-first gaming community of like-minded players that enjoy serious content without all the seriousness, as well as seriously enjoying non-serious content, within WoW and other games. At the heart of it, we’re a bunch of busy adults that still love hanging out and playing games together whenever we can!

Check out our Core Values and History below for a deeper look and if all sounds good, Join Us!

“Serious content without all the seriousness”, huh?

By this, we don’t mean not taking the content seriously, we mean not taking ourselves too seriously. At the end of the day we’re playing games to have fun and, for most people, that means being relaxed and having a laugh whilst doing whatever we’re doing.

Our regular activities include:

  • Active chat on our Discord server.
  • Mythic+ of varying key levels.
  • In-game events, including PuG raids, transmog runs, level 1 races and general shenanigans, as well as social events including Scribblio and Movie Nights.
    • Scheduled events usually start ~8pm UK time.
  • A variety of other games based on members’ interests at any given time. Regulars include Survival/Crafting games on guild servers, other MMOs, Overwatch, Tabletop Sim, Golf With Your Friends, plus the flavour of the month.
  • Our monthly Worgen Clubbing Competition using our own guild AddOn!

What we don’t do:

  • Progression Raiding – While we do social/PUG raids here and there, we don’t have weekly raid days, raid teams, guild progression or lockouts. We’re all about being inclusive and grouping for an event, not about getting a boss down.

Core Values: So what does that all mean in practice?

We aim to create an environment that people can joyfully lose themselves in and experience something they may have never otherwise been able to, and when that happens, it’s amazing. That’s what we focus on. That’s what we aim for.

Our core values are a set of principles that underpin everything we do in and around the guild. They are solid and unmoving, like a stoic wombat. Using these values, let’s carve out an amazing corner of the world, together.

1. Social First

At the root of it, we’re not here to achieve a particular in-game goal; we’re here to relax and have fun within a social community of like-minded players whenever our schedules allow. Any goals are secondary to this and achieving those goals should be ways of bringing people together in a social way, not about the goal itself.
We believe goals have a tendency to consume people and achievements themselves don’t stick with you, it’s the experiences that do.

2. Lose the Seriousness

By this, we don’t mean not taking the content seriously, we mean not taking ourselves too seriously. At the end of the day we’re playing games to have fun and for us, that means being relaxed and having a laugh whilst also respecting each other and making an effort.

3. Be Excellent to Each Other

We’re all in it together and all deserve a great time without negative behaviour. Be conscientious, polite, and empathetic in what we say and what we do.

4. Clean, Childlike Fun

Strive to capture that childlike sense of wonder and fun in events and interactions. People deserve to let go of whatever real life stuff they have tomorrow and immerse themselves in a positive, fun and simple environment. That also means easy on the dark humour and heavy topics.

5. Inclusive

Everyone deserves a chance and should feel welcome and included. Lose the gatekeeping and arbitrary requirements. If we can help people into content they haven’t done before, then that’s a fantastic achievement.

6. Not for Everyone

We won’t be a good fit for everyone and that’s fine. A player should be a good fit for the guild as much as the guild should be a good fit for a player. We encourage players to find the perfect community for them.

7. Real Life First

Games shouldn’t be a commitment that supersedes real life. We’re all busy with inconsistent schedules, so no one should feel stressed when they have something going on in real life but feel like they have to attend an event or be active in the guild. As long as we’re being excellent about it and not abusing the rule at the detriment of others, everyone’s happy.

History of the WCCC

In the summer of 2014, the <Worgen Cub Clubbing Club> was created on Doomhammer-EU. The aim: create a community of players who want to have a fun, social, chilled out time together! Structured content? Pfft, nah, we made our own fun.

Unfortunately, Doomhammer in the wake of Warlords of Draenor was a fairly dead realm so we made the decision to move our little guild to Defias Brotherhood-EU ready for Legion, where it resides today. Our small social community starting gaining traction as Legion launched and we enjoyed chatter on Discord and random shenanigans of our own creation, including the legendary Mammoth Train across the whole of the Broken Isles. We also ventured into casual raids for the social fun of fighting bosses together! The awesome officer team also joined at various points through Legion.

Legion saw good and bad times in guild activity but we persevered until BfA launched and the guild saw a great influx of members and lots of social events both in WoW and out through our Discord.

Fast forward to today and the guild is still going strong! With our Core Values at the heart of it, we’re serious about keeping a relaxed, social community with a positive space for people to unwind and enjoy themselves. Let’s carve out an amazing corner of the world, together!

Away Policy

To avoid having a build up of inactive members, every couple of months or so we remove anyone that has been inactive for over 1 month without setting themselves as on a break. Simply put “on a break”, or words to that effect, in your main’s guild note, or let an officer know, to avoid being removed.

This is an explanation of the ranks we use:
